What We Believe
1) God loves all people.
“For God so loved the world…” (John 3:16)
“God is love.” (1 John 4:16)
2) All people sin. This means they break God’s law and walk away from Him.
“There is no difference, for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.” (Romans 3:23)
3) God is holy and must punish sin. The punishment for sin is physical and spiritual death.
“For the wages of sin is death.” (Roman 6:23)
4) God takes away sin because of the sacrifice of His Son, Jesus Christ, on the cross.
“In [Jesus] we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, in accordance with the riches of God's grace.” (Ephesians 1:7)
5) God gives forgiveness and salvation freely to all who trust in Jesus.
“For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life.” (John 3:16)
6) God gives us life forever. Jesus says, “"I am the resurrection and the life. He who believes in me will live, even though he dies; and whoever lives and believes in me will never die.” (John 11:25-26)
We hold the Holy Bible to be the only source of the Christian faith. We also hold to the Lutheran Confessions as the clear and true statement of our faith and exposition of the Word of God. The Lutheran Confessions can be found within the Book of Concord and include the three ecumenical creeds, the Augsburg Confession, and others as well as Luther's Small Catechism.
